Dance Recital 2009

This past weekend we were consumed with the big dance recital that the girls had been working on for a few months now in their dance classes at Arizona Sunrays Dance Studio. It was a big deal at our house because it was the Cali's 1st recital (Madison is a pro at performing by now!) and I was a little nervous about how she would do in front of all those people. Cali's costume was hilarious and she looked like she just walked off the Las Vegas strip. She did a tap number to "Rockin Robin" and was a blob of yellow feathers and glitter. Her favorite part of the whole dance was the beginning, where her back was facing the audience and she got to shake her tail feathers, or as her Jido likes to call it, "shakin her booty." She did a great job and we were so proud of her...although daddy was not too excited about seeing her in makeup, but the show must go on, right?!

Madison was part of the Sunbeams group this year, which is her first year of company, and she competed in several competitions throughout the year. At the recital she performed a tap number and a jazz routine and loved every minute of it. Going to dance class was always a highlight of her week and she made some great friends this year and it really built up her confidence. She loves being up on the big stage, but her favorite part is getting the flowers from all her fans and the end! Congrats to both of my girls!
